Samarkand region uses US$54.5m for industrial modernization in 2008

About US$54.5 million were invested for development of industrial production and modern technologies in Samarkand region in 2008, UzA reported.
Pastdargom Sahovati, a venture created with Russian businesses, attracted investments for US$222,000.
The venture produces 50 tonnes of ready products per day. The report said part of products exported. The company plans to attract US$300,000 investments to expand production.
The venture plans to export products for US$3 million in 2009.
