Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Glushko met with the First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farhod Arziev.
The Ministry of Education of Russia and Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan have reached an agreement in principle on preparation for implementation of a joint project aimed at improving the quality of teaching the Russian language as well as general education subjects in Russian in educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The parties confirmed their readiness for early signing of a memorandum with basic conditions for implementation of the joint project, as well as its basic program.
The project is aimed at improving the qualifications and professional retraining of teachers of the Republic of Uzbekistan who teach in Russian, improving the level of teaching Russian and general subjects in Russian, improving educational and methodological base.
For this purpose, the Russian teachers and methodologists will be sent to the country. Their work will be provided by the project operators. The Russian Party’s operator will be the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, from the Uzbek Party - Avloni Retraining and In-Service Institute of Managers and Specialists of the Public Education System.
In accordance with the terms of the basic program, during the first stage of its implementation, Russian specialists will test the level of the Russian language proficiency, as well as teaching competencies of teachers in Uzbekistan, as a result the work of the Russian teachers in schools in Uzbekistan and methodologists will be organized in 14 regional centers for advanced training and retraining of pedagogical personnel of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
