Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the initiative of the Development Strategy Center, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, together with the European House of Ambrosetti, a round table on the topic “Strengthening bilateral cooperation to ensure durable and sustainable development in Uzbekistan” was organized with the participation of 50 leading top managers of state and private enterprises of Uzbekistan, UzA reports.
At the event, representatives of the business community of Uzbekistan discussed a number of issues aimed at the further development of the republic, strengthening its international position and attractiveness by expanding economic, cultural and political ties with Italy, European countries and their partners.
European House of Ambrosetti, a consulting firm, was founded in 1965 and is headquartered in Milan. It is one of the most popular private think tanks in the world. Its mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of its clients, as well as to contribute to the development of the economy and society through effective management advice, vocational education services, research, seminars and events.
The acquaintance of the European House of Ambrosetti with Uzbekistan began in 2019, when, within the framework of the Belt and Road Summit, his delegation was received by the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev and the Executive Director of the Development Strategy Center Eldor Tulyakov. In 2020, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio and Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umurzakov took part in a bilateral business conference that brought together over 1000 participants.
The center became the only private company included in the Italian delegation at the "Italy - Central Asia" conference, held in Tashkent on 24 November 2021, and presented a special index that assesses the level of attractiveness of countries for foreign investment.
During the "round table" the initiative "Ambrosetti Platform in Uzbekistan" was presented. This platform will be an important step in relations between Italy and Uzbekistan, especially in those areas where Italy is the world leader, and also crucial for the development of the Uzbek economy.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev, Ambassador of Italy to Uzbekistan Agostino Pinna, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy Otabek Akbarov, General Luca Mirallia, Director of the European House of Ambrosetti for the Middle East and Central Asia made speeches.
