Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Rospotrebnadzor held a videoconference meeting with the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus, including the development of a vaccine to prevent COVID-19.
The Uzbek side expressed gratitude for sending Rospotrebnadzor experts to the Republic of Uzbekistan and for the assistance provided by Russia in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current epidemic situation in Russia and Uzbekistan, the conditions for lifting the imposed restrictions, as well as the progress of testing the Russian vaccine EpiVacCorona, developed by the State Scientific Center for Virology and Biotechnology Vector of Rospotrebnadzor. In particular, the Uzbek side expressed interest in taking part in joint research on the use of the vaccine after its registration.
The parties agreed to continue cooperation in topical areas of interaction, including prevention of the spread of infectious diseases that are relevant to our countries.
