Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 December 2021, at 02.30 am, a group of unknown persons in masks and gloves, armed with iron objects, attacked one of the ATMs owned by Poytakht Bank JSC, located in the center of Nurafshan city.
They broke the code safe, they stole money from the ATM in the amount of 19 million 433 thousand soums (there were another 180 million soums inside the ATM), after which they fled the scene of the crime.
In the course of the operational-search measures carried out on this fact by the officers of the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Nurafshan, it was established that this crime was committed by five young people aged 22 to 24 years old, living in Urta Chirchik, Bektemir districts, as well as in the city of Nurafshan. They were detained in accordance with Article 221 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In the course of the investigation it was established that on 13 December these persons tried to break into the Paynet payment acceptance point located near a grocery store in the city center, but their undertaking was not destined to come true.
The objects used by these persons in the commission of the crime and other material evidence were seized in accordance with the established procedure. With regard to the detainees, the Investigation Department under the Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Nurafshan opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 169 and article 25 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
