Railway Incident: Rule Violation Leads to Train Striking Woman

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, on 22 January 2026, on a section of the railway line between the Gidrouzel and Nukus stations, a woman attempted to cross the tracks at an unauthorized location and was struck by a passenger train.

According to Uzbekiston Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Railways), the injured woman violated railway safety regulations. Competent authorities are currently conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

The railway operator once again urged citizens to strictly observe the rules for crossing railway tracks in order to prevent accidents.
