Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Mustafa Tursinbaev, a prisoner from Correctional Colony No. 7 in Tashkent, died as a result of a wall collapse. This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan.

On 11 February, during the demolition of a single-story building, Tursinbaev was caught under a fallen part of the wall. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital, but despite receiving medical assistance, he passed away on 16 February.

An investigation has been launched under Article 257 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, which pertains to violations of labor protection rules. Sanctions under this article include punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for a term of 2 to 5 years or imprisonment for up to 5 years with deprivation of certain rights.

The investigation is being conducted by the Special Prosecutor's Office of Tashkent.
