Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic discuss the prospects for cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov and discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

“I want to emphasize that the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Kyrgyz Republic is a reliable neighbor, strategic partner and brotherly state. We are aimed at the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations in all areas. I express my gratitude to the leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the construction of schools in the villages of Samarkandek and Margun of Batken region, as well as the reconstruction of the building of the Osh State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theater named after Babur. These decisions of the fraternal Uzbek side are a clear confirmation of the friendship between our peoples,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.

He noted the importance of further development of bilateral relations, adding that industrial cooperation is actively developing between the countries, significant joint projects are being implemented in the field of energy, transport, logistics, and the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund has been launched to financially support projects.

During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction in the field of energy, agriculture, transport, border trade were discussed.

The parties discussed the construction of the Irkeshtam-Daroot-Korgon-Uch-Korgon road, a logistics center for border trade in the city of Kyzyl-Kiya, as well as specific aspects of the implementation of joint infrastructure projects for which the potential of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund can be used.

The meeting participants stressed the interest and readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment areas.
