Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, will visit the city of Cholpon-Ata in Kyrgyzstan on 21 July to participate in the events of the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia.
It is expected that the presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will also take part in the summit under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz side.
The agenda of the meeting of the leaders of the countries of the region includes issues of further expansion of practical cooperation, including in the field of trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, innovation, food security, tourism, cultural and humanitarian exchange and other areas.
Particular attention will be paid to strengthening cooperation in joint response to modern challenges and threats to the stability and sustainable development of Central Asia.
As a result of the summit, it is planned to adopt a number of important multilateral documents.
It should be especially noted that the initiative to hold a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 during the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The first summit of the leaders of the region was held in March 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the second - in November 2019 in Tashkent, the third meeting - in August last year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
