Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev takes part in the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which began today at 14.00 Tashkent time, which is being held in the format of a video conference for the first time.
As previously reported, the agenda of the meeting of the heads of state, chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, includes issues of further deepening multifaceted cooperation within the SCO in the context of strengthening new global challenges and threats.
Following the meeting, it is planned to adopt the Moscow Declaration and a package of documents aimed at expanding mutually beneficial cooperation within the SCO, including in the field of security, economic cooperation, the introduction of digital technologies, the development of rural areas, effective countering epidemics and in other areas.
Currently, the SCO members are India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The organization’s activities involve the observer states Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia, as well as 6 dialogue partner countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka.h
