Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As part of a working visit to Tashkent, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tatarstan.
The President of Tatarstan expressed gratitude for the attention and support for the development of cooperation with Tatarstan in the framework of Russian-Uzbek relations.
The history of business cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan begins in 1993 with the signing of the Agreement. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan operates in Kazan, and a representative office of Tatarstan operates in Uzbekistan itself. Kazan and Tashkent are twin cities.
Rustam Minnianov recalled that over the years of cooperation, common projects have been developed with a number of Tatarstan companies, such as KAMAZ, Tatneft, TAIF, KMPO, shipbuilding plant, Pozis, Tatkhimpharm-drugs, Ak Bars holding, Tatspirtprom, etc.
“A representative from Uzbekistan is participating in the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which I chair on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin,” Rustam Minnikhanov said, noting that this platform also contributes to the rapprochement of the two countries.
“Each visit of our delegation to Tatarstan brings something new to the development of our republic. I am pleased to send my colleagues to your region so that they adopt the best practices,” the President of Uzbekistan said in turn.
