President of Uzbekistan orders talks with U.S. on easing visa requirements for Uzbek citizens
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan is set to launch negotiations with the United States aimed at easing visa requirements for Uzbek citizens seeking entry to the U.S.
This initiative is outlined in a presidential decree titled “On Measures to Dramatically Increase Tourist Inflows and Rapidly Expand the Volume of Tourism Services in 2025–2026, as well as to Strengthen the Role of Tourism in the National Economy.”
As part of the decree’s implementation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to introduce a 30-day visa-free regime for U.S. citizens traveling to Uzbekistan within the next three months.
Concurrently, the ministry is tasked with initiating talks with the U.S. side to simplify visa procedures for Uzbek nationals. Based on the outcome of the negotiations, the ministry is expected to submit concrete proposals to promote greater mutual travel and foster tourism exchanges between the two countries.
