President of Uzbekistan Meets with Prime Minister of Tajikistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda.
At the outset of the meeting, the head of the Tajik government conveyed warm greetings and best wishes on behalf of President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The talks focused on key areas for further deepening Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance, within the framework of agreements reached at the highest level.
Both sides expressed strong satisfaction with the current momentum of bilateral cooperation. They noted the growth in mutual trade and freight transport, as well as the active implementation of joint projects in priority sectors such as industry, energy, electrical engineering, textiles, and the agro-industrial complex.
Particular emphasis was placed on the strengthening of interregional ties and humanitarian exchanges, which contribute to fostering mutual understanding and good neighborly relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Special attention was given to the need for shaping a new economic agenda for partnership, including the development of concrete mechanisms to boost trade and economic cooperation, expand joint initiatives, and enhance cross-border collaboration.
