President of Uzbekistan Approves Support Measures for the Jewelry Industry Through 2029

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree aimed at expanding state support for entrepreneurs operating in the jewelry sector.

The document is designed to stimulate the development of the industry and meet the growing domestic demand for high-quality locally produced jewelry.

According to the decree, the existing benefits for the sale of precious metals through exchange trading and direct contracts, which have been in effect since 23 December 2022, are extended until 1 February 2029.

The new regulations also introduce additional criteria for including jewelry manufacturers in the list of entities entitled to benefits, effective from 1 February 2026.

Among these criteria are: the conclusion of labor contracts with jewelers for newly created jobs with salaries of at least four times the minimum wage, as confirmed by tax authorities, and the mandatory operation of the enterprise within a jewelry center for at least one month.

The decree aims to create additional incentives for investment in the sector, support employment, and strengthen the production of nationally made jewelry that meets international quality standards.
