Pilot Program Launched to Support Women Couriers in Difficult Life Situations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The ONA Fund, in partnership with Yandex Uzbekistan, has announced the launch of a pilot program aimed at supporting women couriers facing challenging life circumstances.
The initiative is designed to assist women working for Yandex Go services, including “Food,” Lavka, and “Delivery,” who encounter serious personal difficulties such as single parenthood, severe illness, or disability affecting themselves, their spouse, or their child.
The type and scope of assistance are determined individually by the fund based on each participant’s situation. Program participants may receive comprehensive legal and humanitarian support, including access to specialist consultations and provision of medicines or essential items for children.
To apply, candidates must submit an online application. Requests are reviewed by Yandex Go within five business days and, if they meet the established criteria, forwarded to the fund. If necessary, the fund may request documents verifying single parenthood, disability, or a serious illness.
The ONA Fund is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that provides women and children in difficult circumstances with access to healthcare, education, and social support. Yandex Uzbekistan has supported the fund for three consecutive years, contributing charitable rides and deliveries, as well as participating in social initiatives.
Notably, with the company’s support, educational grants have been launched for talented undergraduate and graduate female students from Uzbekistan. Financial assistance has covered tuition costs and provided scholarships. Since 2023, 357 million UZS has been allocated to the fund’s activities.
Sardor Kadyrov, Vice President of Strategic Development at Yandex Uzbekistan, emphasized that the company strives to create opportunities for a wide range of people to develop and earn income.
“In addition to our existing projects, we have launched a support program for women couriers — it is intended to provide a helping hand and make it easier to overcome difficult life stages,” he said.
