Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Paid parking will appear on some streets in Tashkent. Separate lanes for buses will also be organized.

The President of Uzbekistan signed a resolution "On additional measures for the further development of the public transport system of the city of Tashkent."

The document notes that in order to reduce congestion, traffic flow on the central streets, increase the average speed of public transport, streamline the disorderly parking of cars along the roads, encourage the use of public transport by the population in the city of Tashkent, a unified system of car paid roadside parking will be created.

At the first stage, on 10 streets, in the future, based on demand, a system of automated paid roadside parking will be created on the basis of a public-private partnership.

In the process of introducing a system of roadside parking in the adjacent areas of paid roadside parking, work will be carried out to repair sidewalks and arrange bike paths.

According to the document, paid parking will be organized on the streets: Fidokor, Amir Temur, Nukus, Bratislava, Mirabad, Glinka, Avlieot, Shevchenko, Said Baraka, Moshtabib and Yakub Kolas.

Separate lanes of public transport will be organized on the streets of Keles Yuli, Akhmad Donish, Bogishamol, Buyuk Ipak Yuli, Makhtumkuli, Fergana Yuli, Lutfi, Beshkayragoch, Kukcha Darvaza and Beruni. Relevant work is planned to be completed by 2026.

In the last quarter of 2022, a separate lane will be introduced only on Ahmad Donish Street.
