Tashkent, Uz(UzDaily.com) - On 19 April, mass events were launched to prevent intestinal helminthiasis among children, within which children from 2 to 10 years old (more than 6 million 115 thousand), as well as schoolchildren under 15 years old (total 445 thousand), studying in high-risk zones (Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Tashkent and Ferghana regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan).
The 1st round of these events runs from 19 to 24 April this year.
As part of mass events, special antihelminthic drugs were delivered to the regions according to the distribution of the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being and Public Health.
Children receive medicines in kindergartens and schools, and mobile groups organized by primary health care institutions and regional offices of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service distribute mahallabay medicines to children at home.
Mass deworming activities are carried out within the framework of the implementation of the Presidential Decree from 3 February 2021 “On the State Program for the Implementation of the Strategy of Action in Five Priority Areas of Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening Public Health" and the decree of the head of state from 10 November 2020 "On additional measures to ensure healthy nutrition of the population."
The 2nd round of mass deworming events is planned to be organized in 6 months.
