Newly renovated "Navoi" border post opens in Tashkent region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 January 2025, a major border checkpoint, the "Navoi" customs post, reopened at the Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan border after being closed for two years.
Located in Tashkent region, specifically in Tashkent district, the newly constructed post is equipped with spacious, well-lit halls and necessary amenities for citizens, as well as separate lanes for buses, passenger vehicles, and their occupants.
The capacity of the new post has been significantly increased. Previously, an average of 5,000 people passed through the checkpoint daily, but now that number has risen to 15,000.
In addition, passenger vehicles can now pass through the post more easily, with their daily throughput increased fourfold, allowing up to 600 cars to pass per day.
To ensure the smooth movement of individuals, passenger vehicles, and buses, truck traffic through the post is temporarily restricted.
