New Uzbekistan is a reliable partner in a changing and interconnected world

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A round table organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held today in the Amirsoy mountain resort in Tashkent region.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of diplomatic missions of foreign countries and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, ambassadors of our country in foreign states.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, in his speech during the round table on the topic "New Uzbekistan - a reliable partner in a changing and interconnected world", specifically focused on Central Asia, which is a priority of our country’s foreign policy.

It was noted that, having embarked on the path of full-scale reforms and democratic transformations, Uzbekistan, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, initiated a new course in foreign policy. It is based on commitment to the principles of international law and the desire for peace, good neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation, strengthening regional stability and international security, which fully meet the national interests of Uzbekistan.

“The Republic of Uzbekistan is committed to a constructive dialogue and the development of multilateral cooperation based on taking into account and respecting the interests of each state,” V. Norov said. An example of this is the interaction of Uzbekistan in Central Asia. In recent years, the relations of our country with all the states of the region have been brought to a high strategic level.

Regular Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia have become an important mechanism for achieving such a high level of mutual trust and cooperation. They contribute to the development of common positions on issues of regional trade, economic, transport, environmental interconnectedness, as well as on solving the most pressing intra-regional issues.

Today, through joint efforts, an absolutely new, positive atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation has been formed in Central Asia. Over the past five years, the volume of regional trade has doubled. Work is underway to implement joint industrial cooperation projects, create efficient value chains, and develop transport and energy infrastructure. The countries of the region jointly confront new challenges and risks.

“We are jointly building a new future for Central Asia as a single, consolidated, stable and prosperous region, dynamically integrated into world economic relations,” the Uzbek Foreign Minister stressed.

Heads of the Embassies of Azerbaijan, Algeria, Germany, India, Oman, the Republic of Korea, Romania, Tajikistan, Japan, as well as the heads of the UN and UNICEF missions in our country also made presentations during the round table.
