Nagoya University contributes to the process of reforming the management system of TSTU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan organized negotiations in the format of a video conference with the leadership of the University of Nagoya (Vice-President Kawakita Kazuhito, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Mizutani Norimi, Director of the Institute of Asian Satellite Campuses Isoda Fumio, faculty), the Ministry higher and secondary specialized education and Tashkent State Technical University.

Vice-President K. Kadzukhito first of all expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for the trust and all kinds of assistance provided in the implementation of the project on cardinal reform of TSTU.

The Japanese side noted that, despite the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, serious work has been done. In particular, a working group has been created to implement the project, the introduction of educational modules of a Japanese university into the educational process of TSTU has begun, and special courses by professors of Nagoya University have been organized for gifted students. In addition, from September 2020, Professor of Nagoya University K. Nishiyama began his duties as rector of TSTU. The cooperation between Nagoya University and TSTU is called unique and unprecedented for a Japanese university.

Nagoya University also elaborated on the process of reforming the management system of TSTU, improving the qualifications of its teaching staff, preparing promising researchers for their subsequent training in Japan. The plans of the Japanese university to establish a system of continuous training of specialists at TSTU, create a solid educational base, increase the academic mobility of students and teachers of the Uzbek university were also noted.

In addition, prospects for cooperation between the University of Nagoya and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the Uzbek-Japanese youth center for innovation, as well as other areas of educational and scientific interaction were discussed.

In conclusion, an agreement was reached to hold regular meetings, and a hope was expressed for an early improvement in the epidemiological situation and an intensification of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation.
