More than 40 cooperation agreements signed between travel companies of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- More than 40 cooperation agreements have been signed between tourism companies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in order to expand cooperation. This was reported by NIAT "Khovar" with reference to the Tourism Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Documents on cooperation were signed within the framework of the tourism and trade forum of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which took place recently in Khujand, the administrative center of the Sughd region.

At the forum, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of regional cooperation in the field of tourism in order to further expand mutually beneficial ties. Representatives of travel companies from both countries also exchanged views on the affordability of prices for travel services in the post-pandemic period.

It was noted that Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are two countries that are historically the most important links of the Great Silk Road. They are located at the crossroads of the world’s trade routes and since ancient times have occupied an important position in the process of mutual enrichment of cultures and civilizations.

The establishment of a visa-free regime between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will create an effective chain that will contribute not only to the development of tourism between the two countries, but also to regional tourism cooperation. The development of tourism, in particular the reception of foreign tourists, has a positive impact on the level of mutually beneficial relations between the parties.

In this regard, the establishment of effective cooperation between the travel companies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan is economically beneficial for both countries.

Representatives of tourist companies from Uzbekistan visited the Panjshanbe market, the Sheikh Maslikhaddin central mosque, the Shifo and Bahoriston sanatoriums, the Training Center of the National Bank, the Arbob Palace, the historical and cultural complex "Khujand Fortress", "Mug Fortress" , the historical complex "Sari Mazor", ancient Penjikent, the mausoleum of Khoja Muhammad Bashoro, the mausoleum of Ustod Rudaki, the archaeological site "Sarazm" and other tourist, cultural and historical places, got acquainted with the tourism potential and opportunities of the north of Tajikistan.
