Ministry of Internal Affairs: Nearly 590,000 traffic violations recorded in Uzbekistan over one month
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 15 April to 15 May 2025, as part of the operational and preventive campaign "Safe and Healthy Country," around 590,000 traffic violations were recorded across Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported. Following these operations, over 67,000 vehicles were impounded and placed in penalty parking lots.
Thanks to these measures, a 25.6% decrease in street crime and hooliganism was achieved. During inspections, dangerous cutting objects were confiscated from 17,000 individuals. Additionally, preventive officers located 100 persons wanted for crimes and evading investigation and trial. More than 10,000 citizens were held administratively liable for minor hooliganism.
Special attention was paid to preventing offenses among minors and youth. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of such incidents decreased by 20%.
Among the identified traffic violations were over 3,000 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol, about 1,900 instances of disobeying lawful orders from law enforcement officers, more than 700 violations related to the illegal installation of special signals and sirens, as well as 48,000 cases of driving without proper documentation.
The Ministry emphasized that such operations will continue to enhance public safety and road discipline.
