Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During inspections from 1 to 26 April 2022, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan revealed 142 cases of illegal and irrational use of natural gas with a total volume of 5 million 437 thousand cubic meters.

The damage as a result of the theft of gas, revealed for 26 days, amounted to 4 billion 703 million soums.

This amount of natural gas is enough to provide 1.5 million households during the day. 

The largest number of cases of illegal use of a valuable natural resource was recorded in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Namangan and Andijan regions. 

Relevant documents were drawn up and submitted to law enforcement agencies for all detected cases.

During the verification activities in January-March 2022, damage worth 25 billion 831 million soums was revealed due to the illegal use of natural gas. This volume of gas is equivalent to the daily requirement of 4 million households.
