Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 September, a delegation led by the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan bin Mohammed Al-Rabiah, arrived in Uzbekistan.
At the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov, the guests were met by Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Muzaffar Komilov, Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Nuriddin Domla Kholiknazarov, Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Sadiqjon Tashboev and a group of officials. A short conversation with a high-ranking guest took place in the waiting room of the International Airport.
The main purpose of this visit is to improve cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially to strengthen ties in the religious, educational, research, tourism, and transport sectors.
It is also expected to consider such important issues as improving the quality of service for pilgrims going on Hajj and Umrah trips, establishing close cooperation with the country's scientific centers.
During the visit of representatives of the delegation of Saudi Arabia to our country, it is planned to hold talks with the heads of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the Committee for Religious Affairs, interested ministries and departments.
According to the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, the state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia on 17-18 August 2022 at the invitation of two servants of the Holy Mosque - King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia - brought relations between the two countries to a new level. The visit of the delegation led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah to Uzbekistan is also the result of this visit.
