Mahmud Istamov Reappointed as First Deputy Minister of Justice
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan has undergone personnel changes. Mahmud Istamov has been reappointed as the First Deputy Minister of Justice. Istamov previously held this position from 2017 to 2019 and, until recently, served as a deputy minister.
Throughout his career, Istamov has held several senior roles in government bodies: he headed the Office of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, led the Prosecutor’s Office of the Bukhara Region, and served as Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission.
Mirjalol Allakuliev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Justice. Since 2022, he led the Department of Legislation at the Ministry of Justice and has previously held various positions within the ministry’s system.
Sherzod Rabiev, who previously served as Deputy Minister, has been transferred to a new role as Rector of Tashkent State University of Law.
