The Ministry of Preschool Education, together with the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, carefully studied the situation with the case of diseases of 25 pupils of preschool educational institution No. 5 of Akkurgan district of Tashkent region. 

Starting from 2 to 11 August, children with clinical manifestations of intoxication syndrome began to arrive at the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid, the clinic of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute, the Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 1 in Tashkent, the Children’s Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Tashkent Region and the Infectious Diseases Hospital of the Akkurgan District. As of 12 August, 6 inmates receive treatment in intensive care units, their condition is assessed as serious, of which 1 child is on a ventilator, the condition is consistently serious. The remaining 9 children have a moderate condition. The hospitalized children were tested for bacteriological examination and sent to the laboratory.

To coordinate anti-epidemiological measures and provide methodological assistance to local specialists, a group of infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists has been sent from the Service of Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being and Public Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Specialists from the Research Institute of Epidemiology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases held a consultation and the hospitalized children were given a preliminary diagnosis of Botulism. Final diagnoses will be made based on the results of an epidemiological investigation, as well as bacteriological data. In 21 children, during the treatment, there is a positive trend in the state of health.

State preschool educational organization No. 5 of Akkurgan district of Tashkent region is designed for 5 groups. The payroll of the preschool educational institution is 136 pupils. Centralized water supply and sewerage system, separate local heating system, natural gas installed.

Every day in this preschool educational organization, all pupils undergo medical examinations and are under the supervision of medical workers.
