Large-scale exercises were held at the Tashkent airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 June, scheduled tactical and special exercises were held at the airfield of the Tashkent airport to eliminate an emergency that occurred during an emergency landing of an aircraft.

According to legend, when touching the runway, the front landing gear of the aircraft did not release, a fire starts. There are 75 passengers, crew and 10 kg of dangerous cargo on board. The airport controller, having received a signal from the pilot about the landing gear failure, informed all services. Employees of the airport and the Unified Aviation Search and Rescue Service immediately arrived at the runway.

“In total, 13 airport services were involved in the elimination of the consequences of a simulated emergency - 117 people, 47 pieces of equipment and a Tu-154 training aircraft. Medics and rescuers evacuated the wounded, provided them with first aid, firefighters extinguished the fire, the radiation and chemical protection department unloaded dangerous cargo, airport employees pretended to be passengers and crew. Each has its own "role", and a certain time to practice actions in an emergency. Everything should look as believable as possible,” the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said.

The exercises were carried out with the aim of practical testing of interdepartmental interaction between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and departments of the Tashkent airport in case of an aviation accident, as well as to improve the training of personnel in the implementation of measures to localize and eliminate emergencies at the airport.
