Kudermetova Makes Confident Start at the Australian Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team tennis player Polina Kudermetova got off to a strong start at the Australian Open, advancing past the first round of the main draw with a convincing victory.

In her opening match, Kudermetova defeated Spain’s Guiomar de Reales in straight sets, 6–2, 6–3. The match was firmly under the control of the Uzbek athlete, who delivered a composed and consistent performance and did not allow her opponent to impose her game.

Uzbekistan’s representatives continue their campaign at the Australian Open. On Wednesday, Kamilla Rakhimova will take to the court for a match against one of the tournament favorites, American Coco Gauff.
