Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on allocating about 600 billion soums to the city of Tashkent to eliminate problems arising from abnormal cold weather.

According to the document, 584 billion soums will be allocated to the khokimiyat of the capital by the Fund for Reconstruction and Development. The funds will be used to develop the infrastructure of mahallas, repair and improve internal roads, footpaths, engineering and communication facilities of mahallas that suffered during the period of a sharp drop in temperature.

The Khokimiyat of Tashkent will allocate an additional 1 billion soums to each makhalla of Tashkent at the expense of these credit funds to eliminate the problems that have arisen.

As for the return of money, the khokimiyat will have to return 200 billion soums from additional sources of the local budget of Tashkent in the fourth quarter of 2023, and the remaining 384 billion soums - within four quarters of 2024 in equal shares, Dunyo news agency reported.

In addition, the President of Uzbekistan instructed the khokimiyats of the districts of Tashkent, together with the chairmen of the mahallas, to discuss and approve at the meetings of the Kengashes of people's deputies of the districts the lists of ongoing infrastructure development projects for which the allocated funds will be used.
