Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Office of the State Security Service for Namangan region carried out an operational measure to curb the illegal movement of foreign currency across the state border.

So, in Yangikurgan district, a car of the Cobalt brand was stopped, under the control of a local resident, born in 1991, following in the direction of Namangan-Nanai.

When inspecting the car in the presence of witnesses, US$200,000 were found in its cabin, which were seized in a procedural manner.

As it became known, the detained citizen, having entered into an agreement with the residents of Kyrgyzstan, whose identity is being established, tried to illegally transport this large amount of foreign currency to the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under the relevant article of the Criminal Code.
