Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 May 2022, GroundZero co-working became a meeting place for more than 60 entrepreneurs from the creative industry of Uzbekistan to discuss the pressing systematic and individual problems and challenges they face every day.
The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with the entrepreneurs of the country in order to find out firsthand where the pain points of the creative industry are and how to give impetus to the development of the service economy.
One of the goals of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026" was the creation of 3.5 million jobs in the service economy.
Creative industries are a sector of the economy associated with intellectual activity, developing mainly on ideas and technologies. These are tourism, catering, craft, architecture and design, fashion and design, galleries and exhibitions, cinema, theater, producing, advertising, etc.
In Uzbekistan, this industry is experiencing rapid growth, every day there are more and more companies that offer design and production services; many creative youths representing the country at international exhibitions, festivals and competitions; both demand and supply in the fashion industry market, both domestically and for export, are increasing. However, there are still systematic problems that need to be addressed.
The new format of easy communication with entrepreneurs is becoming a new tradition of the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry. So, during the next meeting, representatives of the creative economy learned about the revitalization of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The entrepreneurs personally got acquainted with the new chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhobov. Afterwards, the chairman heard from industry representatives about the challenges they face on a daily basis. There were both individual and systematic problems that needed to be solved at the state level.
During the meeting, proposals were collected from entrepreneurs regarding the reasons hindering the development of industries and specific solutions for drawing up an analytical note to the authorized bodies.
