Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Austria appointed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan has appointed an Austrian citizen, President of Agrotek, Boris Kandov, as Honorary Consul of our country in Austria with a residence in Vienna, Dunyo news agency reported.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev officially presented the newly appointed Honorary Consul with a consular patent, as well as the consular exequatur of the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs of Austria, confirming the rights and powers of Boris Kandov in this high post.

During the meeting, the newly appointed Honorary Consul expressed his deep gratitude to the leadership of the republic for their high confidence. He emphasized that "being a native of Uzbekistan, he perceives this appointment as a great honor and high responsibility."

Boris Kandov, a native of Samarkand region, is the president of the Austrian company Agrotek, which is engaged in international trade and investment activities in Europe and the CIS. As a member of the Federal Economic Chamber of Austria, he successfully cooperates with Uzbekistan, knows the historical, cultural, social and economic characteristics of the country.

The consular district, in which the Honorary Consul will represent the interests of Uzbekistan, includes such leading Austrian federal states as Vienna, Burgenland, Lower Austria and Upper Austria.

The priority areas of the Honorary Consul's activities will be the protection of the rights and interests of our fellow citizens in the consular district, the expansion and development of foreign economic and cultural-humanitarian relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Austria, as well as facilitating the exchange of advanced technologies and experience of leading Austrian innovative companies.

According to Boris Kandov, the parties have a huge untapped potential in trade, economic and investment spheres. He also noted that his primary tasks are to open trade representations of large Uzbek companies and associations in Austria, increase brand awareness "Made in Uzbekistan", as well as organize a solid business mission of Austrian entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan in order to deepen mutually beneficial partnerships.
