Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 February 2022, as part of the Energy Week of Uzbekistan at the World Expo 2020 Exhibition (Dubai, UAE), representatives of Uzbekistan GTL held a business meeting with a delegation from Honeywell UOP (USA), following which a memorandum of cooperation was signed.
The production of linear alkylbenzenes, with a capacity of up to 100 thousand tons per year, is planned to be built on the basis of the GTL plant in Uzbekistan. The raw material for the new production will be intermediate products produced during the production of GTL kerosene.
Linear alkylbenzene is the main raw material for the production of all types of detergents from liquid soaps to washing powders. To date, the market of detergents is one of the most dynamically developing, including a significant increase in demand for LAB and within the country, as well as in the CIS countries.
The signed memorandum envisages the expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan GTL and Honeywell UOP in the joint development of technical, economic, licensing and other documents for the organization of new production.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the opening ceremony of the complex for the production of synthetic liquid fuel Uzbekistan GTL, instructed to create new satellite production facilities around the plant, within the framework of the unified petrochemical cluster being created. A promising project for organizing the production of linear alkylbenzenes on the basis of the Uzbekistan GTL plant was presented to the President of Uzbekistan during the opening ceremony. The implementation of this project will allow to completely localize the production of raw materials for detergents, as well as to arrange its export.
