"Healthy Children" program marks 25th anniversary

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A delegation from Uzbekistan participated in the XXIV International Conference in Moscow, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Russian program "A Conversation About Healthy Eating," which is part of the global "Healthy Children" initiative. Uzbekistan has been actively involved in this program since 2013, implementing the "Health Routes" program in 140 schools across the country.

At the conference, Zarina Abdullayeva, Head of the Department at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, highlighted the expansion of the "Health Routes" program this year. An environmental component has been added, including lessons aimed at developing ecological awareness among schoolchildren. This decision is focused on fostering a sense of responsibility for environmental protection, alongside promoting healthy eating habits.

Sherzodjon Khudaykulov, Director of the Republican Education Center, emphasized the importance of the "Health Routes" program for Uzbekistan, as it raises awareness among schoolchildren about the principles of healthy nutrition and environmental education.

Alexandra Makeeva, the author of the "Health Routes" program, praised the program’s success in Uzbekistan, thanks to the participation of all regions of the country, and underscored the collaborative efforts of private businesses, government bodies, and public organizations.

Conference participants expressed confidence in the need to further expand the initiative and integrate environmental elements into programs worldwide, considering this crucial for strengthening health and fostering a responsible attitude toward the environment among future generations.
