Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 April, the Head of the CIS Observer Mission, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, as part of a short-term observation at a referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan", visited the city of Jizzakh and Jizzakh region, press reports service of the Executive Committee of the CIS.

Sergei Lebedev got acquainted with the work of a number of precinct election commissions, talked with their members and chairmen, and met with representatives of the media.

The head of the CIS Observer Mission highly appreciated the professionalism of the members of the commissions, noted that the commissions were provided with legislative acts on the referendum, methodological recommendations, instructions, information materials, as well as the equipment necessary for organizing voting, and expressed confidence that everything was technically ready for the referendum.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the khokim of Jizzakh region Ergash Soliev. Khokim of the region informed Sergey Lebedev about the implementation of plans for the construction of social, cultural and housing facilities, as well as about joint innovative projects of the region with the regions of the Russian Federation
