Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The head of an enterprise selling flour to the population at inflated prices was detained in Ishtykhan district of Samarkand region, the press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

As noted, the enterprise received 84.5 tons of flour in the amount of 209.8 million soums under the contracts of Oktoshdon JSC. In the future, the products were to be sold to the public at reduced prices. Instead, the head of the enterprise decided to send the flour to retail outlets at a large markup.

A criminal case was initiated against the man under article 192-11 (abuse of powers by officials of a non-governmental commercial or other non-governmental organization) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigations are currently underway.
