Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan, on 23 December 2021 at 23:30 in Lolazor area in Kanimekh district, a group of citizens engaged in illegal gold mining was bombarded with stones.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations units arrived at the scene. The rescue operation involved 63 employees and 5 pieces of equipment.

As a result of search and rescue operations, the bodies of 5 people were found and sent to the Zarafshan Medical Association for a forensic medical examination. All the victims were natives of the Bukhara region.

On the fact of the incident, the Navoi Region Department of Internal Affairs, the Kanimekhsky District Department of Internal Affairs and the Kanimekhsky District Prosecutor’s Office are conducting an investigation on 3 December 2021 at 23:30 in Lolazor area in Kanimekhsky district, a group of citizens engaged in illegal gold mining was bombarded with stones.
