Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Germany will supply Uzbekistan with coronavirus vaccines as part of Germany's promised supplies to developing countries. This was announced on August 9 in Berlin by the deputy official representative of the German government Ulrike Demmer, writes Deutsche Welle.
Ulrike Demmer noted that Tashkent will receive 355,200 doses of the vaccine. Deutsche Welle notes that Germany will supply the drug from the British-Swedish manufacturer AstraZeneca to Uzbekistan.
The vaccine will be supplied through the global COVAX facility.
As of 8 August 2021, more than 10 million doses of vaccines have been used in Uzbekistan. The first dose was received by 6.8 million people, the second - 2.3 million, the third - 887.9 thousand. Over 1.3 million people received the full course of vaccination.
Uzbekistan received 14.58 million doses of vaccines. In particular, Uzbekistan received 10.5 million doses of ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine from China. Also, 3 million doses of Moderna vaccine, 710 thousand doses of AstraZeneca (CoviShield) and 370 thousand doses of Sputnik V were delivered to Uzbekistan.
