Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 September 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held talks with State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sultan bin Saad al-Mureikhi, who arrived in our country on a visit.

During the conversation, it was noted that there is a significant potential for enhancing political and diplomatic contacts, trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

The schedule and organizational aspects of the upcoming events were discussed.

An agreement was reached to continue providing mutual support on international and regional issues.

Qatari official positively described the practical results achieved under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. It was emphasized that granting Qatar the status of a SCO Dialogue Partner with the active participation of the Uzbek side will raise the interaction between Qatar and the SCO to a qualitatively new level, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
