Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 October 2021, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov held a meeting with the Chairperson of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Margareta Cederfelt, who arrived in our country as an international observer at the presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was noted that the participation of a representative mission of observers from the OSCE PA is a confirmation of the great interest in the ongoing reforms and transformations in Uzbekistan.

Margareta Cederfelt congratulated Uzbekistan on the successful holding of the presidential elections and expressed gratitude for the assistance provided in organizing the activities of the OSCE PA mission.

The head of the OSCE PA noted the high organizational level of the presidential elections held in Uzbekistan on 24 October 2021. A positive assessment was given to the favorable conditions created for the active participation of citizens in the electoral process.

An exchange of views took place on topical issues of inter-parliamentary interaction within the OSCE PA and the schedule of upcoming events.

The meeting was attended by OSCE PA Secretary General R. Montella, Assembly Vice-President, Special Representative for Central Asia P. Kauma.
