Fines for some offenses are decreasing in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A draft Law, developed by the Ministry of Justice based on the study of the experience of foreign countries, envisages a drastic reduction in fines for administrative offenses specified in five articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

In particular:

the fine for driving vehicles with expired insurance policies or a person not provided for in the insurance policy is halved (the current fine is 245 thousand soums, it is proposed - 122.5 thousand soums);

the fine for non-receipt by vehicle owners of the insurance policy is halved for citizens (the current fine is 245 thousand soums, it is proposed - 122.5 thousand soums), for officials by one third (the current fine is 735 thousand soums, it is proposed - 490 thousand soums);

the fine for illegal acquisition or sale of currency values by citizens is established in the interval from ten (2.4 million soums) to twenty (4.9 million soums) of the basic calculated values (the current fine is set at a fixed amount of 4.9 million soums) );

fines for officials for violation of the accounting and reporting procedures are almost halved (the current fine is set in the range from 1.2 million to 2.4 million soums, it is proposed - from 735 thousand soums to 1.7 million soums), for repeated commissions during the year, the current fine is set in the range from 2.4 million to 4.9 million soums, it is proposed - from 1.7 million soums to 2.4 million soums;

the fine for engaging in activities for the carriage of passengers by road transport without a license is set in a fixed form with a decrease of more than three times (for citizens, the current fine is set in the range from 4.9 million soums to 24.5 million soums, it is proposed - 1.7 million soums, for officials the current fine is set in the range from 12.2 million soums to 36.7 million soums, proposed - 7.3 million soums);

fines for violating the rules of the passport system are more than halved:

a fine for non-receipt by a citizen of Uzbekistan of a passport or its damage, loss, as well as a foreign citizen and a stateless person who has a residence permit in the Republic of Uzbekistan, for damage or loss of a residence permit is proposed to be set in the range from 81.6 thousand soums to 245 thousand . sum (the current fine is set in the range from 122 thousand soums to 735 thousand soums);

a fine for allowing citizens to live in the residential premises they occupy without identity documents, without temporary or permanent registration in the amount of 735 thousand soums (the current fine is set at 1.7 million soums).
