Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, during her visit to Andijan region on 3 October this year, got acquainted with the state of work on the socio-economic development of the Balikchi region and the implementation of measures to reduce poverty.

During the trip, the activities of a number of business entities, as well as the problems they face, were reviewed. A dialogue with entrepreneurs and the public took place.

Thus, the Chairperson of the Senate got acquainted with the activities of Tojimagal Hakan Savdo LLC, located on the territory of the Mumtoz makhalla of Balikchi district, and new projects being implemented.

This enterprise invested 2.4 billion soums in 2019-2020, and established activities for the production of knitwear. The annual productivity is 3 billion soums.

Today, modern workwear for men and women is produced here. Currently, the company has created 150 jobs, 30 of which fall to the share of low-income families.

Having familiarized herself with the production process, the Chairperson of the Senate drew attention to the issues of timely payment of wages to employees and the creation of appropriate conditions for them. In addition, in order to create more favorable conditions for women working at the enterprise, proposals and recommendations were made on the construction of a preschool educational organization on the territory of the enterprise and the attraction of qualified specialists to this work. It was noted that each reform in Balikchi district must meet the needs of the population.

Then the Chairperson of the upper chamber of the Oliy Majlis T. Narbaeva visited the foreign enterprise Skorton Textile LLC, located in the Omonarik mahalla of Balikchi district.

This enterprise during 2019-2020 attracted foreign investments in the amount of more than 20 million US dollars, the production of double-roll yarn was launched. Launched in September 2020, the enterprise has a production capacity of 10.3 thousand tons per year, 100% of the manufactured products are exported.

It is obvious that the export potential of the region will significantly increase due to the products of this enterprise. Currently, the company has created 450 jobs, of which 90-100 are for low-income families.

The next address is the makhalla gathering of citizens "Kumtepa" in Balikchi district. The greenhouse project in this area was created on the initiative of the khokim of Andijan region in order to ensure the effective use of available land and water resources, increase agricultural production, ensure food security and further increase exports, create new jobs for the population during the coronavirus pandemic, as indicated in the presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 19 February 2020 "On additional measures for the further development of the lemon growing sphere", as well as in the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 20December 2019.

To develop the cultivation of lemons within the framework of a new project in this area, modern greenhouses are being built on 44.6 hectares of land.

To organize the cultivation of lemons on this land area, 41 project initiators were selected. One hectare of land is allocated for each entrepreneur. The total cost of 1 project is 1 billion 450 million soums. Of these, 1.1 billion soums are bank loans, 350 million soums are the entrepreneur’s own funds. 10 new jobs will be created here.

On the initiative of the khokimiat of Balikchi district, persons with disabilities, lonely persons and those who have lost their breadwinner are provided with housing. In particular, 20 houses were handed over to the population in need of social protection.

During her trip to the region, the Chairperson of the Senate visited these residential buildings located in the Yakkatol MSG. In particular, she talked with Kh. Solieva with a chronic illness, who is registered at the dispensary, and listened to her feelings. The need to give priority attention to work on health protection and to provide comprehensive support to those in need was emphasized.

At the same time, it was noted that such an initiative of the district administration deserves attention. It was stated that support for persons with disabilities, protection of their rights and interests, the development of rehabilitation services is an important factor in protecting human interests.
