Embassies of Uzbekistan invite specialists for the construction of New Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The embassies of Uzbekistan in Russia and Turkey have announced a call for specialists to work in the construction of New Tashkent. A video invitation to join the project was published on the diplomatic missions' Telegram channels.

It has been reported that citizens are being invited to participate in the construction of the city, which will cover an area of 20,000 hectares.

As part of the project, around 10,000 jobs will be created for Uzbeks living abroad.

The recruitment is open for specialists in 38 construction fields, including concrete workers, welders, plumbers, electricians, masons, plasterers, and other professionals. Salaries depend on the nature and scope of the work, with the average wage ranging from 8 to 15 million soums. Workers will be provided with housing, special clothing, transport, and three meals a day. Additionally, officially employed workers will have an 8-hour workday and receive extra days off.

Construction teams will also have the opportunity to take on orders based on the volume of work and execute them according to agreements.

For more information and to apply for employment, individuals need to contact the call center of the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction. For those abroad, a hotline is available at 0 800 000 11 76, while those within Uzbekistan can call 1176.

It is worth noting that in March 2023, the president launched the construction of New Tashkent by laying a symbolic capsule.

The city is expected to accommodate about one million people. It will house government institutions, universities, and other key facilities.

The first phase of the project is already underway, with the construction of 11 multifunctional residential complexes, as well as hotels and restaurants, with a total cost of $490 million.
