EEC and Uzbek Commodity Exchange Discuss Cooperation within the Common EAEU Exchange Market Framework

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During his visit to Uzbekistan, Maxim Yermolovich, Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), held a working meeting with Nabikhon Samatov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange (UZEX).

During the talks, Yermolovich spoke about the joint efforts of the EEC and EAEU member states to establish a common exchange market by 2030 within the Eurasian Economic Union framework. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation, exchange of experience, and the introduction of advanced practices in exchange trading.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to include representatives of Uzbekistan in the Exchange Committee, which will comprise representatives of EAEU member states and observers from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yermolovich emphasized that the participation of UZEX representatives as observers and the use of their expertise in developing exchange models will give additional momentum to the formation of unified exchange market principles within the Eurasian Economic Union.
