Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzcharmsanoat Association held a seminar on in-depth study of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026. The document signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the state program for the implementation of the Strategy, developed on the basis of the principle “From the Action Strategy to the Development Strategy”, which includes seven priority areas.
The event was attended by the management, employees and regional offices of the Uzcharmsanoat Association.
It was noted that it is planned to increase the share of industry in GDP and achieve a 1.4-fold increase in industrial production. Thus, in the leather and footwear sector, it is planned to increase production capacities by 3.2 times due to the general development of the industry.
In the regions of the country, it is planned to increase the volume of industrial production by 2026. Thus, by this period, the output of finished leather will increase by 2.3 times, footwear - by 2.8 times, leather goods - by 2.6 times, leather clothes - by 2 times, other products - by 1.3 times.
According to the Strategy, exports in 2026 will grow to US$30 billion (at the end of 2021 - US$16.6 billion), and the share of the private sector in exports will rise to 60%.
In the leather and footwear industry, export indicators will look like this: by 2026, enterprises in the industry will supply products worth US$1.15 billion abroad. The export of shoes worth US$130 million will be ensured by attracting orders from such world-famous shoe brands as Adidas (Germany), Bogner (Germany), Bata (Switzerland), Geox (Italy), Diadora (Italy), Pakerson (Italy), Sasha Fabiani (China).
To do this, it is planned to hold a series of meetings with the owners of these brands, familiarize them with Uzbekistan and its production facilities in the leather and footwear industry, and organize negotiations with major exporters of the country.
Today, New Uzbekistan is being built on the basis of the important idea “Human dignity is the most important priority of society and a humane state.” Based on this noble goal set by the head of state, we are witnessing that our people are becoming the real author of new reforms.
In general, it was noted at the seminar that the Uzcharmsanoat Association and the enterprises that are its members will make their own contribution to the implementation of the goals of the Development Strategy and will mobilize all their strengths and capabilities along this path.
