Deputy Khokim of Tashkent takes part Seoul 2021 Urban Resilience Online Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 September, Deputy Khokim of Tashkent Sharof Rakhmanov took part in the International Forum on Urban Resilience "Seoul-2021" on the theme "Daily risks of cities after the coronavirus pandemic".

Mayors and representatives of city administrations made presentations at the online event: Hoboken (New Jersey, USA), London (UK), Rome (Italy), Athens (Greece), Tel Aviv (Israel), Vladivostok (RF), Vientiane (Laos), Makati (Philippines), Seoul (Korea), Colombo (Sri Lanka). The main topics of the reports are the actions of cities during a pandemic, ensuring their sustainability in post-like realities, the development and implementation of smart construction technologies, digital transformation of cities, improving air quality in megacities and other issues.

Sharof Rakhmanov noted in his report that people and their health, the environment, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle in society are important factors in the life of any city, and provided information on the direct fight against coronavirus. So, 15 thousand beds have been created for patients with any strains of coronavirus, about 300 operational mobile teams are functioning, an active vaccination process has been established, which today covers more than 40% of the population of Tashkent.

Rakhmonov spoke about the most urgent tasks for digital transformation, which in the next 5 years will cover the spheres of health care, preschool and public education, housing and communal services, transport and other areas. Thus, IT innovations will continue to be actively introduced into the everyday life of the city.

At the end of the online conference, the participants thanked the organizers and expressed their readiness for fruitful cooperation between the cities.
