Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further improvement of the system for ensuring guarantees of the rights of the child."
According to the amendments, the criminal liability of persons who have reached the age of 13 was abolished.
Previously, persons who have reached the age of 13 were prosecuted for premeditated murder under aggravated circumstances.
Accordingly, criminal responsibility begins at the age of 14.
They were identified as aggravating circumstances in the commission of such a crime as sexual intercourse with a person under the age of 16, providing them with material values or providing other property interests.
It has been established that in the interrogation of a minor witness or victim, along with the teacher, a psychologist must participate.
