Cooperation with the city of Kobe discussed in Japan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the ongoing systematic work to promote economic diplomacy, expand trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the regions of Japan and Uzbekistan, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov paid a working visit to the city of Kobe.

During the trip, meetings and negotiations were held with the leadership of the city of Kobe, headed by the mayor of Hisamoto Kizo, heads of economic organizations responsible for foreign economic relations, headed by the general director of JETRO of the city of Kobe, Nozawa Takura.

During the meeting with the mayor of the city of Kobe, Hisamoto Kizo, the reforms carried out in the republic in the political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were covered in detail. The investment and export potential of the republic, favorable conditions for doing business, as well as the growing interest of Japanese private business in cooperation with Uzbek companies were also presented. In addition, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov spoke about the ongoing work to expand ties with the regions of Japan, in particular, with the prefectures of Hiroshima, Saitama, Aichi, the cities of Kyoto, Nagoya, Karuizawa, Takhara, and suggested establishing similar cooperation with the city of Kobe.

In turn, the mayor of the city of Kobe, Hisamoto Kizo, showed great interest in this format of cooperation and supported the proposal to hold "business seminars" and organize days of Uzbekistan in Kobe. The issue of attracting small and medium-sized businesses of the city of Kobe for doing business and implementing joint projects in Uzbekistan was discussed separately on the example of companies in the city of Nagoya.

They also discussed issues of establishing cooperation in the field of tourism and coverage of the rich historical heritage of the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, Kokand for residents of the city of Kobe. In addition, the issues of establishing ties with the University of Kobe and educational institutions of Uzbekistan were discussed, the mayor of the city of Kobe Hisamoto Kizo assured of his personal support for this cooperation and promised to assist in establishing contacts.

Further, negotiations were held by the heads of economic organizations responsible for foreign economic relations, headed by the General Director of JETRO of the city of Kobe, Nozawa Takura.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov told the Japanese side about the priority areas of development between Uzbekistan and Japan, about those positive shifts in relations between the countries that occurred after the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in December 2017 to Japan.

They discussed issues of interaction with JETRO, as an important organization contributing to the strengthening of business contacts between the parties. Nozawa Takura expressed a desire to intensify work to expand cooperation between business representatives of Uzbekistan and Japan, which will contribute to the joint implementation of projects in the private sector.

Nozawa Takura also supported the proposal to hold "business seminars" in 2022 with a presentation of the investment and export potential of Uzbekistan for the city’s business circles and assured about the comprehensive support of business ties with the republic.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the practical implementation of the agreements and the further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kobe.
