Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 June 2022, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the procedure for the stay of citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the territory of the Russian Federation came into force.

The document was signed in Moscow on 21 May 2021 and Tashkent on 17 June 2021.

In accordance with the Agreement, Russian citizens entering Uzbekistan and Uzbek citizens entering Russia are exempted from the obligation to register within 15 days from the date of entry.

The period of stay of Russian citizens in Uzbekistan is calculated from the date of entry, confirmed by a migration card stamped by border control authorities or a stamp in a foreign passport confirming crossing the Uzbek border.

In case of staying in the republic for more than 15 days, it is mandatory to issue temporary registration at the place of stay (in a hotel or at the passport office) no later than the 15th day of stay.
