Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 22 August, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with a delegation of the US Congress that arrived in our country, headed by Congressman Trent Kelly, co-chair of the "Caucus on Uzbekistan" in the US Congress.

During the dialogue, the current state and prospects of Uzbek-American cooperation, including issues of expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation, were discussed.

It was emphasized that in recent years there has been significant activity in the dynamics of bilateral inter-parliamentary relations.

Of course, this is largely facilitated by the open, constructive and pragmatic foreign policy of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In the development of relations between the parliaments of the two countries, the efforts of the inter-parliamentary group "Uzbekistan-USA" and the "Caucus on Uzbekistan" in the US Congress were noted.

At the meeting, attention was focused on expanding cooperation in the field of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as the implementation of democratic reforms.
